A Stunning Brooklyn Heights Interior
I love reading Gwyneth Paltrow's weekly newsletter, Goop, for design inspiration. In a recent issue I absolutely fell for this historic Brooklyn Heights home (did I mention it's also a vacation rental!). There are tons of beautiful things to behold - layered Berber rugs, fantastic modern art, African stools and seating. At first glance you can see this home is designed by well-traveled homeowners.
Beautiful Beni Ourain rugs line the living room. The mix is stunning.
I love homes filled with books, and these built-in shelves are fabulous. In stark white, they are the perfect backdrop to a colorful collection of hundreds of books.
The dining room also features a Beni Ourain rug and a cool feathered light fixture.
An African stool is used as a side table in the lounge area. The Berber rug in shades of black and purple adds an unexpected pop of color.
I love the mix of elements in this home. A unique leather chair is distinctive from the many wood furnishings in the interior.
Oh, how I would love an office like this! The yellow and orange antique rug is a vision of bright, sunny shades in an otherwise stark white space.
And the kitchen is ultra-modern. The wooden stools are my favorite. They just beckon you to come and stay awhile at the bar.
