Hearst Designer Visions Show House

One of the things I love to do when I'm in New York is visit designer show homes.  It's at these events that you come upon some of the most beautiful design, sometimes things that are way ahead of the curve.  Last month Hearst opened its Designer Visions show house, featuring the work of three amazing designers who partnered with Elle Decor, Veranda and House Beautiful to create three very unique residences.

David Rockwell designed the two rooms above.  While strikingly different - the first room a formal living room and the second a more casual family room space - I love how he brought together color, pattern, and unique finishes in each room.  In the golden living room, the trio of brass coffee tables immediately caught my eye.  And in the family room above, I love the texture in the woodgrain console.

Designer Antony Todd created this calming bedroom retreat.  The layers of soft neutrals make this room feel nice and cozy.

Todd also designed this living room.  I love the red chairs that add just the right pop of color.  And on the sofa, I think those may be John Robshaw pillows adding a bit of a cultural touch.

Todd's kitchen is one of the most beautiful.  The wooden seats on the stools and wood trolley for the dogs makes this kitchen feel nice and homey, despite the modern stainless steel elements throughout.

Matthew Patrick Smyth designed this bedroom that is just striking.  I love the idea of using a large-scale mirror behind the bed.  It wows!

To get tickets to see this beautiful showhouse in person, be sure to visit Designer Visions.
