Rays of Sunshine: Doris Leslie Blau Rugs

Swedish Double-Piled Rug

I woke up this morning to a very sunny day in Philadelphia.  The bright and beautiful light inspired me to share some gorgeous antique rugs by New York design firm, Doris Leslie Blau.  These sun-colored rugs were my favorite.  All sporting a modern yellow or golden hue, with designs that are rooted in ancient techniques, the result is truly beautiful.

  1. I really like the first and last ones especially! The French Art Deco is more traditional but with a contemporary flair that I can appreciate as well.

  3. Edwina, I agree. I love the blend of the traditional and contemporary in these rugs.

Lisa, aren't they amazing?! The first rug is from the 1930s, so about 80 years old at this point. Who knew that back then people were making things that looked so modern.
