It was late last month that I attended a wonderful group art show featuring the work of artists Dallas Shaw, Leigh Bullard and Liz Ballard at Stem in San Francisco.

Sheherazade: Moroccan Dreams

My love of Morocco is no secret. I still have dreams of flying away on an exotic trip to North Africa, making my way through the busy bazaars of Marrakesh, and tasting the beautiful foods and spices that Morocco is known for. Until that trip becomes a reality, I find ways to incorporate a little of that Moroccan dream into my home.

Shops like Sheherazade in New York City allow me to have just a little bit of that dream with their beautiful antique and contemporary furnishings that come straight from Morocco, Turkey, Andalusia, Tunisia and Egypt.



A large selection of ikat pillows and textiles is what first attracted me to Sheherazade. I cannot get enough of the sophisticated blend of colors found in their collection of ikat textiles.



Leather poofs and upholstered ottomans bring an authentic Moroccan touch to the home.



While I may not be taking any exotic vacations this year, I love that I can bring a little global style home with a visit to amazing shops like Sheherazade.

Madewell: A Blend of Fashion & Interiors

I absolutely love when fashion and interior design come together to complement one another. I'm sure you've read articles that look at the growing relationship between fashion and interiors. Trends seem to go hand-in-hand in both industries these days.





The latest Madewell catalog (J. Crew's sister store) is a testament to this growing relationship. Lifestyle shots of fabulously dressed young women sitting upon Cherner chairs and mid-century modern sofas.



I found myself just as engrossed in the rooms featured, as I was in the relaxed laid-back style of Madewell clothing.

Wedding Thoughts: Andrea's Beau

I just returned from my sister's engagement party in Brooklyn. The whole weekend was filled with pre-wedding celebrations - a cocktail party to celebrate the newly engaged couple; festivities punctuated by two amazing cakes from One Girl Cookies in Brooklyn; and then a day at the J. Crew Wedding Shop in Rockefeller Center to try on wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. With weddings on the brain, I couldn't help but fall in love with these beautiful hair accessories from Andrea's Beau, just perfect for bridesmaids and flower girls.



These adornments are made from beautiful silk flowers, ribbons and trims that will add a unique touch to any wedding ensemble.



I'm such a fan of the large flower hair clip for a bridesmaid ensemble. It's a stunning and perfect accessory.
