12345...Days of Giving

holiday giving week

Welcome to five days of giving at AphroChic this week! To celebrate the holiday season, I'm hosting a week of giveways that you are sure to love. It's my special holiday gift to you.

Our first giveaway is a wonderful book donated by our friends from Simon & Schuster that will be a favorite among art lovers. The City Out My Window: 63 Views on New York provides a unique look out the windows of some of New York's most famed residents. Architect Matteo Pericoli's metticulous illustrations reveal unique perspectives of the city through the windows of its residents.

Illustrations include views from the home of Wynton Marsalis, Annie Leibovitz and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

The illustrations are absolutely amazing. I'm in love with how innovative this project is. Each drawing, each perspective, provides you with a window into the lives of the inhabitants of this amazing city. As Percoli says, “The way you see the city from your window is yours and only yours. And your view describes your city as much as it tells something about yourself.”

If you love design merged with art and innovation, then this book is for you.

To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment. You have until Friday, December 18th. One lucky winner will be picked randomly after the 18th. Good luck! And remember, come back for another fantastic giveaway tomorrow.

Update: This giveaway is now closed.  A winner will be announced the week of December 21st.  Thank you for your comments.

I would love to have this on my coffee table so that I could just gaze at the drawings and marvel at the patience needed to create them.

  6. Just saw a piece yesterday on Matteo Pericoli on CBS Sunday Morning. It's amazing to see the actual view and his interpretation of it. It reminded me of all the time I spent staring out of windows when I lived in NYC.
